The awards will be presented on April 15, 2010 in Fellbach, near Stuttgart.

The Zeitenspiegel Agency established the Hansel Mieth Prize, awarded annually for a published or unpublished feature on social issues in German with photos, in honor of Hansel Mieth, a photographer for LIFE. The Gabriel Grüner Grant was established in memory of the eponymous Stern reporter, who was killed on assignment in Kosovo in 1999 along with photographer Volker Kramer and interpreter Senol Alit.
