Tremendous natural beauty here, the old woman standing by the heap of debris says. If you ignore the torched houses with their the pockmarked walls and blackened foundations, and the “Get ready Tschetnik!” scrawled on the ruins, and also ignore the apple trees shot to pieces, the fist-sized holes in the church, and the linden tree in the churchyard that was blown apart by a grenade, you have to agree with her.
