Carsten Stormer

Born in 1973, Carsten hoped to become a ship captain but abandoned his training to become a shipping agent, bartender, and traveller. Not a habitual reader, nor even a writer of postcards, he nonetheless resolved to go into journalism, initially joining the Phnom Penh Post in Cambodia and Burma’s Myanmar Times. He later studied journalism in Bremen and at the Indian Institute of Technology in Chennai, India before receiving a scholarship to the Günter Dahl school of feature reporting. Free-lance writer since 2004.
