Jan Rübel of Zeitenspiegel has been profiling German politicians for “Das Parlament,” the Bundestag’s in-house newspaper, since January 2009.

For example, on March 1, 2010, his profile of Enak Ferlemann:

The man breathes politics. Large eyes half closed, resting in an armchair, speaking softly and hoarsely. He looks a bit helpless. But his eyes never waver and his tense body could be primed to pounce.

He spreads his arms and says, “I take it like it comes.” ….
