Big times for Zeitenspiegel at this year's Constructive World Award: Rike Uhlenkamp and Rainer Kwiotek, along with their protagonist Mary Madalo Harawa, won an award at the CWA.
Time Spiegel was nominated in five out of six categories – accordingly, the agency delegation's turnout was large at “Fotografiska,” a photography museum in the former alternative culture and art center Tacheles in Berlin. Rainer and Rike received the award for their reportage “Sowing Knowledge,” which was featured in the Frankfurter Rundschau appeared and documented the Slow Food education in Malawi – on a path to better nutrition and thus an important contribution to survival and optimized health.
By the way, the winning report was produced with the help of the European Journalism Centre (EJC), which promotes solution-oriented research in journalism.
We were also pleased that our agency, Zeitenspiegel Reportagen, was explicitly mentioned in the laudation; after all, our credo of socially engaged reporting, which we have been pursuing for 40 years, is essentially a core element of precisely that “constructive journalism” which the Constructive World Award honors. So it is not surprising that no editorial office was represented with as many nominees as Zeitenspiegel. And it is also hardly surprising that this was extensively celebrated on this Berlin evening.
