The journalism school Studio-école Mozaïk in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, is getting a broadcast antenna and will be able to go on air in the future.
Until now, Mozaik's radio contributions, created by journalism students during their training, were broadcast via a partner network of 50 local radio stations across the country. This February, the regulatory authority HACA also granted them their own FM broadcast frequency. In October, Mozaik then received funding from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) for their own antenna. For a time, Tilman Wörtz had co-founded Mozaik from 2013 to 2015 with the Ivorian radio presenter Souleymane Oulai and also managed the BMZ application for the antenna. Next year, presidential elections will be held in Ivory Coast – Mozaik FM will then be the radio station with the broadest correspondent network in the country.
