Zeitenspiegel author Fritz Schaap has won this year's Medienpreis der Kindernothilfe. He received the award from the jury in the print category for his reportage “The Children of Benin,” which appeared in “Die Zeit.” The text describes the trade of drugs, weapons – and children by armed gangs and can here be reviewed.
Another Zeitenspiegel reporter had been nominated: photographer Sascha Montag, along with author Kristin Oeing (a graduate of the Zeitenspiegel Reportage School), were among the candidates for the prize in the print category. Their Reportage focuses on early marriages among Syrian refugees
