Jahrgang 1958. Nach einer Ausbildung zum Einzelhandelskaufmann Studium an der FH für Fotodesign in Bielefeld. Seit 1989 Reportagen mit den Schwerpunkten Politik, Soziales und Reise in den Ländern Osteuropas und des Nahen Ostens, überwiegend für Stern, Spiegel, Focus and Life Magazine. Seit 1999 Mitglied bei Zeitenspiegel.

Nach langen Verhandlungen durften die Menschen mit Sonderzügen Richtung Westen ausreisen. Am 5. Oktober 1989 trifft der erste Zug am Hauptbahnhof im oberfränkischen Hof ein. What began tentatively this winter has, through weekly persistence with rallies, blockades, and vigils, grown into an unmissable citizen protest: resistance against the “Stuttgart 21” project. Tens of thousands of people are taking to the streets across generations, in a kind of balance between defiance and a sense of duty. Many of them have never demonstrated before. And on Saturdays, they punctually continue to do their weekly street cleaning.
