Under the motto \u201cReportages Against Forgetting,\u201d a contemporary history event about Stern reporter Gabriel Gr\u00fcner, originally from Mals, took place on November 11, 2010, at the Pobitzer farm shop in Mals. Eleven years ago, Gabriel Gr\u00fcner, along with photographer Volker Kr\u00e4mer and translator Senol Alit, was murdered while on assignment at the Dulje Pass in Kosovo.<\/p>\n

The education committee of the municipality of Mals and the agency Zeitenspiegel (Stuttgart) have, together with the Gr\u00fcner siblings, set themselves the goal of commemorating Gabriel Gr\u00fcner's spirit and commitment. <\/p>\n

Gabriel Gr\u00fcner reported from global hotspots, including Afghanistan, Algeria, Sudan, and the Balkans. For him and his colleagues, the question of \u201dwhy\u201c was key to improving any situation, and his goal was to deliver impactful and authentic reporting. This is how \u201dReports Against Forgetting\" came about.<\/p>\n
