Gabriel-Grüner Scholarship: Reportage from Syria published in GEO

You have „visited people who are building new lives from the rubble,“ write Katharina Schmitz and Jürgen Schaefer, who jointly lead the editorial team of GEO, in their editorial: In the July issue of GEO, author Eliana Berger and photographer Eyad Abou Kasem report from Damascus.

The reporting from Syria was made possible by the Gabriel Grüner Scholarship. It „was initiated in the very year of the reporter's assassination by the journalism agency Zeitenspiegel. Since then, dozens of reporting teams have fanned out into a world where much injustice occurs. Who cares about it? We do. And hopefully, you do too.“
