Success wave for TV projects

Zeitenspiegel reporter Carsten Stormer has won the 9th. ARD-Won the documentary competition. Also, stern TV and the SWR several reports from our reporters were broadcast.

 

Zeitenspiegel reporter Carsten Stormer (director and writer) and Tristan Chytroschek (producer), commissioned by a&o buero Filmproduktion GmbH Hamburg, have won the 9th with their documentary film project „The Recycling Lie.“. ARD-Won the documentary film competition. With 69 submitted projects, the competition recorded a record number of entries this year. The winning project looks at the gigantic amounts of plastic waste, especially in countries of the so-called „Third World,“ and the tricks of the recycling industry.

The planned 90-minute film „The Recycling Lie“ impressed with its „very good investigative approaches and combines everything that makes a prize-winning documentary for ARD,“ according to the jury's statement. The decision for the winning project was made according to ARD- Editor-in-Chief and Jury Chairman Rainald Becker unanimously: „This is a first since I've been chairman of the jury,“ said Becker. „Plastic waste has increased by ten percent since Corona, so the topic is more relevant than ever.“

„The Recycling Lie“ picks up where other films about packaging waste leave off, emphasize Chytroschek and Stormer. The documentary will go behind the scenes of the recycling and plastics industry and bring the truth of the recycling lie to light.
The participating broadcasters of the ARDInitiative Brazil, MDR, NDR, RBB, SWR and WDR – enable the realization of the award-winning documentary film project by covering production costs of up to 250,000 Euros. In addition, „Recycling Lie“ awaits a broadcast slot on Das Erste and a release in the ARDMedia library.

Horror on the farm

Meat from your own farm – and thus from happy animals? Far from it! Secretly filmed footage from a farm in the Black Forest shows that the supposed idyll is nothing but a facade: the cattle stand knee-deep in their own feces, and before slaughter, the farm manager stuns them by shooting them with a long gun – agonizingly and in absolute violation of the law. Our reporter was on site and confronted those responsible with the footage.

The Drama of Moria
