Zeitenspiegel Creates Dementia Wiki

With the Dementia Wiki A comprehensive encyclopedia on questions surrounding dementia has gone online. Created by Zeitenspiegel. Commissioned by the Swiss association Podium Demenz, which developed the idea.

1.6 million people in Germany have dementia, and two-thirds of them are cared for by relatives at home. Anyone caring for a person with dementia should be prepared for their behavior to change from month to month. Therefore, creativity, patience, and knowledge are required to be able to cope with new challenges time and again.

The Dementia Wiki provides answers to the most important questions – in an accessible and free way. It fills a gap in the offerings and contributes to the quality of life for those directly and indirectly affected by dementia. The portal covers the 150 most important terms related to dementia, from A for mindfulness to H for home. The entries include texts, films, and further links. The initiative is under the patronage of the German Alzheimer's Society.

Zeitenspiegel has been associated with the Dementia Forum for a long time. The association was initiated by Michael Schmieder, the founder of the Sonnweid home, which for many years was considered a global model for the care of people with dementia. Together with Schmieder, Zeitenspiegel's Uschi Entenmann and Erdmann Wingert published the Ullstein bestseller in 2015. „Crazy, but not stupid“ written. A second book will follow this fall for the Frankfurt Book Fair.
