The industrial revolution produced unprecedented wealth at the expense of third-world countries. Globalization has replaced imperialism, but the world’s poor are still paying the price for others’ prosperity - now in the form of rising sea levels. Bangladesh exists at the delicately balanced interface of fresh and salt water. Many of its coastal farming communities have become unlivable.
