Award for Eva Wolfangel

Zeitenspiegel reporter Eva Wolfangel has won the Ludwig Bölkow Journalism Prize. She was honored in Berlin on May 28.

The Ludwig Bölkow Journalism Prize is awarded by EADS in cooperation with the German School of Journalism (DJS). It aims to set standards for thoroughly researched journalism in the aerospace sector and to make this complex topic accessible to a broad audience. The award recognizes authors who competently cover, critically question, in-depth analyze, and make generally understandable to the layperson, topics or sub-aspects of aerospace.
Eva won the award for a report on a doctoral student who developed the satellite propulsion system for the first German moon mission. This is unusual in that such important developments are normally reserved for industry and not universities, especially not for a “small” doctoral student.
The prize is awarded in three categories: print, radio, and television. The radio prize went to Bayerischer Rundfunk, and the TV prize went to ZDF.
