Life
Born in 1959, he hails from Daun (Eifel) and studied visual journalism under Professor Adolf Clemens in Dortmund.
Since graduating in 1992, he has worked for all major German-speaking and international magazines and newspapers such as Geo, Star, Chrismon, Mirror, Focus, Nature, Sea and The time. Member of the Zeitenspiegel reporting agency since May 2000.

Published in „Taz“ on April 8, 2022On February 24, 2022, Russia invaded Ukraine. Around 8.5 million people subsequently fled their homeland. They reached the borders of neighboring Western countries on overcrowded trains, buses, on foot, or in cars. Many helpers welcomed the often traumatized and exhausted refugees. They could rest in reception camps behind the borders. Helpers provided them with food and clothing and brought them to safe accommodations.
