Life
Rike Uhlenkamp studied Journalism, Politics, and Spanish in Berlin, Hamburg, and Valencia. After stints at Zeit Wissen, Spiegel Online and Geo Season she worked as a freelance journalist and graduated from the Zeitenspiegel Reportage School. Since 2017, she has been a reporter, editor, and project manager at Zeitenspiegel Reportagen, and has been part of the management team since 2021. She writes and produces features for Star, Spiegel Knowledge, Geo, NZZ, Atmosphere, Frankfurter Rundschau. In addition, she reports from Ethiopia for the aid organization „Menschen für Menschen“ (People for People). Previous research has taken her across Germany as well as to Italy, Malawi, Mozambique, Nigeria, Norway, Oman, Austria, Peru, Senegal, and Spain, among other places.
She has received several scholarships and awards for her work:
